SBC Debating Team landed third place in the PAHEI (Philippine Association of Higher Education Institution) Regional Debate Tournament held at the University of Southern Mindanao last November 5, 2009.  It was participated by the different colleges and universities within North Cotabato including USM Kabacan, NDMC Midsayap, SCC Midsayap, CDK Kidapawan and SBC Mlang.

The teams competed in an Asian-Parliamentary Debate System with which only two teams are debating in every round, the government side and the opposition side. Each team was composed of three members. SBC team members were Tahir Midsabala, Ulyssis Bacharo and Cecel Palmes and Breen Dote was chosen as one of the adjudicators.

The team made it to the semifinal round against the USM team, but did not reach the final round. Automatically they got the third place and went home with some awards garnered by Breen Dote as the “second best adjudicator” and Ulyssis Bacharo as the “best speaker” of the semi-final round.

Verse of The Day
“Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

The secret of good teaching is to regard the child's intelligence as a fertile field in which seeds may be sown, to grow under the heat of flaming imagination.
