Clear S. Cahilig and Mae Joy Roja, both from the College of Business Education topped this year’s graduates as they graduated Cum Laude during this year’s Graduation Exercises held in the early morning of March 30, 2010 at the SBC Gymnasium. Based on the Academic Policies of the 2009 Revised Edition of the Student Handbook: Students who completed the course requirements for the Baccalaureate Degree with a cumulative Honor Point Average (HPA) of 3.75- 4.24 with no grade in any subject below 2 shall be graduated Cum Laude”. Cahilig and Roja met the aforementioned requirements, hence; they topped the graduates of this year. Clear Cahilig graduated as Cum Laude with an HPA of 3.76 while Mae Joy Roja’s HPA is 3.93. In a related story, the school awarded the Highest Fidelity Award to John Mark Platon who graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree major in English. Platon spent his elementary, high school and college education here, hence; he deserved this highest loyalty award from the institution. Engr. Ariodear Rico, a commissioner of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Agricultural Engineering was this year’s guest of honor of the 51st College Commencement Exercises. He is an Ilocano who hails from Dugong, Mlang, Cotabato and an alumnus of the SBC High School Batch ’77. He is from Barangay Dugong of this municipality. Breakdown of this year’s graduates is as follows: Bachelor of Arts - 10; Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science - 5; Computer Hardware Servicing NC II - 18; Automotive Servicing NC II - 13; Graduate Midwifery - 3; Health Care Services - 6; Bachelor of Secondary Education - 4; Bachelor of Elementary Education - 6; Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - 17; High School - 56. This year’s Commencement Exercises was emceed by Prof. Rosalie Ann I. Untalan, college English faculty.
